    Name of your website?

    Appraisal New Orleans

    Your name?

    Joseph Marino

    Your Location (city, etc)

    New Orleans, LA

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Appraisal New Orleans is a full-service appraisal provider web site.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I launched the site to make interaction with clients more convenient for all parties, and to provide additional electronic services.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched my site a couple of years ago, but have just recently relaunched with a web site overhaul.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Search engine optimization played a key role. And my SEO consultant recommended a related domain.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It's faster (due to fast contact forms), it's well-organized and easy to navigate, but not cluttered.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

The site is a business generator - it's the virtual storefront to my New Orleans appraisal business.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I get out of it more than I put in, which is the goal with any internet marketing effort.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I'd hire other appraisers that were also bloggers.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Certainly. I can field nearly any amount of incoming work, rapidly.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Procrastination and inattention are, honestly, the biggest hurdles to an effective web presence. If you ignore your site, it stops working.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Finding direction has been the biggest challenge. But I hired an internet marketing consultant that helped a lot.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Blogging consistently has been the single most effective web site promotion method.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

To be successful, running a site takes work and owner involvement.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I've run it a couple of years, but only just gotten serious, and so only just gotten results.

    What is your website address?
