Real estate is the foundation of any developed economy and if real estate is hurting (as it has been in the last couple of years) then it makes it very difficult for the rest of the economy to get better. However it is interesting to see the "accomodating lenders" mentioned here...the same lenders who were very unaccomodating when the GFA (Global Financial Crises) was in full swing.
